UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal South State Highway 6 collision

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department issued a press release regarding the fatal South State Highway 6 collision that took place on Wednesday, January 13.
According to the press release, a male victim was attempting to cross 700 South State Highway 6 when he was struck by a passing 18-wheeler. The driver of the truck, an unidentified woman, had a green light when she struck the man.
The driver remained at the scene and was determined not to be intoxicated at the time of the wreck. The victim was reportedly not using a crosswalk at the time of the crash. No charges have been filed.
