UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal police chase crash on Wallisville Road

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal police chase crash that took place on Wallisville Road on the morning of Monday, October 5.
Authorities say 18-year-old Diamante Isaiah Brena and a male passenger were parked at 10000 Wallisville Road attempting to steal a generator from the location. Police officers responded to the scene and Brena fled the scene of the crime.
While fleeing police, Brena failed to maintain a single lane and crashed into a nearby fence. The passenger in the car was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital and declared dead.
Brena was arrested after the crash and now faces felony murder charges.
