UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal pedestrian wreck on Westheimer Road

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release on the fatal pedestrian wreck that took place on Westheimer Road on the morning of Monday, March 1.
According to the press release, an 82-year-old man was attempting to cross the street near 6100 Westheimer Road when he was hit by a black Hyundai Santa Fe. The victim died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 54-year-old woman, remained at the scene and was determined to not be intoxicated at the time of the crash. As the victim was not using a crosswalk at the time, she has not been charged.
