UPDATE: HPD issues press release on fatal Almeda Road accident

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued a press release regarding the fatal accident on Almeda Road that occurred on the morning of Saturday, February 20.
Authorities say a tan Chevrolet Captiva was traveling near 12000 Almeda Road and for unknown reasons, veered into the nearby northbound lanes. The Captiva then hit a Chevrolet Cavalier, killing the driver inside.
The driver of the Captiva, a 63-year-old woman, suffered two broken legs.
No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation remains open.
