UPDATE: HPD issues information on fatal wreck on the Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has issued information related to the fatal wreck that took place on the Southwest Freeway on Thursday morning.
According to the department, a white International tractor-trailer driver made an improper right turn near 9100 Southwest Freeway around 9 a.m. The truck was then hit by a white Ford E250 van and a Chevrolet Equinox.
The driver of the van, an unidentified 30-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was determined not to be intoxicated at the time of the crash and was released.
An investigation into the incident remains open at this time.
