UPDATE: Elderly man killed in major crash on Westheimer Road

HOUSTON, TX – An elderly man was killed in the major crash on Westheimer Road that was reported by the Houston Police Department on the evening of Thursday, October 8.
The 67-year-old victim was driving away from a nearby restaurant to pick up medication after he began to feel ill. He was reportedly driving near 5900 Westheimer Road when he drove through the Fountainwood intersection and into oncoming traffic. He then hit two vehicles and was fatally injured.
The unidentified man was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of the other vehicles involved were not injured.
Investigators believe the man possibly suffered a medical injury before the incident.
