HOUSTON, TX – A child sustained critical injuries in a possible street racing crash that took place last night, according to KHOU 11.

Authorities say a black Camaro was traveling on 7500 South Kirkwood when it suddenly crashed into a Toyota minivan turning from the northbound lanes around 8 p.m. Witnesses say that the Camaro was reportedly racing another vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver of the car fled the scene on foot.

Eight people were inside the car at the time of the crash. An 11-year-old girl is reportedly in critical condition at a nearby hospital.
