UPDATE: 11-year-old dies of injures sustained in North Freeway crash

HOUSTON, TX – The 11-year-old critically injured in a horrific wreck on the North Freeway has died of their injuries, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The child was a passenger in the back of a Nissan Altima that was stranded in the HOV lane of the freeway with a flat tire. A red Ford Mustang, driven by a 17-year-old teenager, hit the back of the car. The 13-year-old and 11-year-old in the vehicle did not survive.
