UDPATE: HPD releases information about fatal pedestrian crash on Attwater Street

HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has released information regarding the fatal pedestrian crash that took place on Attwater Street on the morning of Wednesday, April 14.
A 49-year-old man was lying down in the middle of the road, near 4900 Attwater Street, when he was struck by an oncoming maroon Toyota Camry. According to the driver, the street was dark so he was not able to stop in time to avoid hitting the man.
The driver remained at the scene, attempted to administer aid, and cooperated with authorities. However, the victim died of his injuries at the scene. It is not known why he was lying in the road.
