HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are looking for suspects after a person reportedly backed a U-Haul truck into a bicycle store in an attempted smash-and-grab in north Houston early this morning.
According to KTRK, the accident occurred in the Greater Heights area, near 15th and Yale at about 1:15 a.m., when a suspect crashed through the front door of a bicycle store and set off the alarm.
By the time officers arrived at the scene, the truck was gone.
Authorities later found the abandoned U-Haul, though it is unclear at this point how many bicycles were stolen, as the truck was empty.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
