The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation about a crash that killed one person on State Highway 64 in Tyler.
Just after 8:00 a.m., police saw a vehicle traveling along SH 64 when, for reasons that had not yet been determined, it left the roadway and continued on in a ditch. It then crashed into a tree and a fence before completely coming to rest. The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a 42-year-old woman, was thrown off the car upon impact. She suffered from significant injuries and was pronounced deceased by emergency crews who responded to the scene.
No one else was injured.
Area investigators have yet to determine the reason that caused the driver to lose control of the car and drifted from the roadway.
