Tyler – Two Killed in a Bus Crash on Toll Road 49

A head-on collision between a pickup truck and a bus caused the death of two people on Toll Road 49 near U.S. Highway 69 South, early Sunday morning.
At around 4:11 a.m., Tyler police officers responded to Toll Road 49 after receiving a 911 call reporting a car accident. According to initial reports, An ECHO Charter Bus was heading west when, for yet unknown reasons, it collided with an eastbound Chevy Z-71 pickup truck. How the crash took place is yet to be determined by local authorities.
The impact of the collision left both occupants in the Chevrolet with serious injuries. They were pronounced deceased upon arrival of emergency crews. Tyler police identified both victims as Jeffrey Dalton Aynesworth, 22, of Rusk, and Payton Joseph Raymond, 24, of Flint.
No other injuries were reported as of this writing.
Investigation is underway.
