Tyler – Multiple Injured, Including Teen, Following US 271 Collision

The Tyler Police Department is conducting an investigation about a car accident on US Highway 271, Monday, January 13th.
At around 12:00 a.m., Tyler local troopers were dispatched to 10700 block of US Highway 271 in response to a call reporting a head-on collision. According to the preliminary investigation, a 2005 Mercedes-Benz was heading north along the highway when it crashed head-on with a 2019 Nissan Sentra. The force of the impact injured three occupants in the Nissan. They were all rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment. Their condition was not immediately released.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Mercedes-Benz, identified as 19-year-old Jasmine Gonzalez, also sustained injuries and was given treatment on scene. Gonzalez was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
No other casualties were reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
