Two killed, one hurt in wrong-way collision in south Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Two people were killed and another was hurt in a wrong-way collision in south Houston on Tuesday night, Click2Houston reports.

The wrong-way driver was heading northbound in the southbound lanes on the new 288 toll road near the 610 intersection. Shortly after, authorities received a call from a woman saying she had been struck by the driver and was trapped inside her car.

First responders arrived at the scene and cut the woman out of her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with leg injuries. The wrong-way vehicle flipped over after the initial crash, killing two women inside.

Their identities have not been released.
