HOUSTON, TX — A man and a woman died early Sunday after a single-vehicle collision on the Sam Houston Tollway feeder road in west Houston, reports Houston Chronicle.
The fatal accident happened on the tollway’s southbound feeder road, near the Katy Freeway, at approximately 3:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a Ford F-150 pickup truck was speeding when it veered off the roadway and struck a concrete pillar.
Authorities said neither of the pickup’s two occupants, believed to be in their 20s, were wearing a seat belt at the time.
An investigation remains ongoing, but intoxication is a suspected factor in the crash.
