HOUSTON, TX — Two people died Sunday night in a two-vehicle collision that critically injured a 12-year-old girl near Houston’s Willowbrook area, reports Click2Houston.
The fatal crash happened at the intersection of North Gessner Road and Loyel Pointe Drive at around 9:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a man was driving a tow truck southbound on North Gessner when he collided with a sedan as he tried making a left-hand turn. The impact of the crash sent the sedan into a nearby light pole.
Authorities said the sedan’s female driver and one male passenger in the backseat died from their injuries at the scene.
A 12-year-old female passenger suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a downtown hospital.
The driver of the tow truck also sustained undisclosed injuries, but it was unclear whether or not he was hospitalized.
An investigation remains underway, but deputies believe high speed factored into the accident.
