HOUSTON, TX — Two people died Wednesday after a two-vehicle rollover crash that led to a driver jumping from an overpass on Tomball Parkway in north Houston, reports Click2Houston.
Authorities said the accident happened in the 15400 block of the southbound lanes at the North Sam Houston Tollway.
It was not immediately clear what caused the collision, but one driver was seen getting out of their vehicle moments after and jumping off the highway overpass. First responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.
His passenger, who suffered severe injuries in the crash, was rushed to a nearby hospital along with a passenger in the other vehicle. At least one of the victims had to be transported by airlift.
Officials with the Harris County constable’s officer later confirmed the death of a second person, but did not clarify whether that person was one of the two injured passengers.
Emergency crews shut down a section of the parkway during the response, creating delays in the area.
