Truck driver killed after tanker bursts into flames near Buc-ee’s on Katy Fwy

KATY, TX – A truck driver was killed in a fiery, multi-vehicle accident on the Katy Freeway yesterday evening, according to KPRC2.
The accident occurred on westbound I-10 (Katy Freeway), near a Buc-ee’s on Cane Island Parkway, at about 7:10 p.m., when three vehicles collided.
A tanker truck caught fire, leading to the death of the truck driver.
No other people were hurt in the crash.
Authorities closed multiple lanes of the highway for several hours following the accident, and they advised drivers to avoid the area due to delays.
It is not clear at this time what led to the accident.
