An early Thursday morning collision on Interstate 35 which involved 18-wheeler trucks reportedly injured several people, DPS officials say.
Just before 3:00 a.m., police officers responded to a fatal wreck on Interstate 35. According to initial reports, a 2018 International 18-wheeler and 2019 Freightliner 18-wheeler were traveling along the southbound lanes of the highway when it slowed down for yet unknown reasons. The 2018 Volvo 18-wheeler who was behind the two trucks were not able to control its speed, striking the 2019 Freightliner. The impact prompted it to struck the back of the 2018 International.
2018 Volvo driver, identified as 34-year-old John Davis, was pronounced dead on the scene. Both drivers of the other trucks sustained various injuries that were considered not life-threatening. They were identified as Robert Sillemon, 52, and Christopher Humbert, 47, respectively.
The crash remains under investigation, as per DPS officials.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the friends and families of the deceased victim as well as the injured drivers. We also pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Troy Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. To make sure your claim is successful, you need to gather supporting evidence and documents that can back up your claim. It could be a detailed account of the accident you are involved in or documents indicating the extent of injuries you sustained. These may include a video or photograph of the scene, police reports, and medical records, to name a few.
