Three rescued after trench collapses at SW Houston intersection

HOUSTON, TX — Houston firefighters pulled three people out of a collapsed trench Monday afternoon near southwest Houston’s City Park neighborhood, according to ABC13.
The incident occurred off the intersection of West Orem Drive and Almeda Road shortly before 3:00 p.m.
It was not immediately clear whether the victims were pedestrians or in a work capacity at the time of the collapse. Multiple fire engines responded to the area where bulldozing and construction equipment were at rest.
Houston Fire Department said no immediate hospitalizations were required but have not released details any injuries sustained.
No further details have been provided regarding a possible cause of the event.
