Texas City – 1 Killed, 1 Injured in Solo-Car Crash on Texas 146

A major single-vehicle accident on Highway 146 near Farm to Market Road 1765 caused the death of a person and injuries to another, according to a local news source.
At around 2:36 a.m., a pickup truck was seen traveling along Highway 146 when, for yet unknown reasons, it went out of control and crashed into a light pole. The impact of the crash seriously injured the driver of the pickup who was identified only as a 70-year-old man. He was rushed to the nearest hospital for further medical treatment. His passenger, identified only as a 69-year-old man, also sustained significant injuries but later died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Local investigators are still determining why the driver lost control of the truck. No charges have been made at this time.
