Teen pedestrian hit, injured by driver near north Houston high school

HOUSTON, TX — A teenage girl was hospitalized Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in front of Dekaney High School in north Houston, according to ABC13 Houston.

The incident took place on Imperial Valley Drive at Doubletree Glen Drive, outside the school’s ninth grade center, at around 6:50 a.m.

Details are limited, but footage captured at the scene shows heavy damage to the vehicle’s windshield.

Spring ISD officials said the driver stayed and assisted the girl, who is a student at the high school, until first responders arrived.

The victim was said to be coherent at the time she was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital. No updates on her condition have been released at this time.

No further information has been disclosed, but an investigation was underway.
