HOUSTON, TX — A woman was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after driving her SUV into a light pole and a restaurant in Houston’s River Oaks area, reports KHOU11.

Houston police responded to the scene on Kirby Drive near Westheimer Road shortly after midnight.

According to authorities, the woman was driving at a high rate of speed when she collided with a light pole and crashed into a restaurant. A witness said the woman still had her foot on the gas pedal after the impact.

No injuries to the woman or any one else was reported.

The restaurant, which appeared to be in the process of opening, sustained considerable damage, though no further details were released.

Officers arrested the woman under suspicion of driving while intoxicated and booked her into jail.

An investigation into possible DWI was underway.
