Suspect killed in police chase crash on McCarty Street

HOUSTON, TX – A suspect was killed in a police chase crash on McCarty Street this afternoon, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
.@HCSO_D3Patrol deputies were involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle when the suspect crashed into a pole at the 4500 block of McCarty, where the vehicle engulfed in flames. Authorities began to chase the suspect after realizing they were driving a stolen vehicle. During the pursuit, the suspect crashed into a pole near 4500 McCarty Street and then their vehicle burst into flames. The incident occurred around 3:22 p.m.
The suspect was declared dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
