HOUSTON, TX – A suspect was killed after crashing into a tree during a police chase on Thursday night, according to ABC 13.

Authorities tried to pull over a driver who was speeding, running red lights, and veering into multiple lanes. The suspect, Kaylup Deruise, eventually lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree at Barker Cypress and Tuckerton. He was killed upon impact.

Police said Deruise threw out a small bag of drugs during the incident. He reportedly clipped another driver’s car at one point, but that driver was not hurt.
