Suspect charged in fatal crash on US-90

HOUSTON, TX – A man is facing intoxication manslaughter charges after a fatal crash on the Crosby freeway late Sunday night.

According to a report by HPD, the crash occurred shortly before midnight within the 9300 block of US-90, near Runnesburg Road.

Police say 27-year-old Alexander Weaver was traveling in the outbound lanes of the freeway when his Chevrolet Malibu crashed into a motorcyclist who was stopped on the shoulder.

The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after being thrown from the bike and into the road below. Weaver immediately fled the scene of the crash.

Weaver was located a short time later within the 800 block of Oates Road and taken into custody.
