A 12-year-old student is reportedly recovering after getting struck by a car on Main Street, according to a local news source.
Last August 28th, a pedestrian accident was reported at the intersection of Main Street and Lakeview. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 12-year-old student from Fort Bend Independent School District was preparing to cross the street when a passing Chevrolet Tahoe hit her. Police said the student stepped into the bike lane after seeing the vehicle coming but, unfortunately, the Tahoe’s side mirror struck her. The pedestrian sustained a very deep gash on her forehead. He was immediately transported to Texas Children’s Hospital where she underwent treatment. The mother of the child, identified as Lacey Smith, told the police that her daughter “received three layers of stitches.”
No one else was injured.
Authorities did not confirm if the driver of the vehicle will be facing charges.
