Sugar Land – Man Struck by Car on Grand Parkway

A tragic pedestrian accident on Texas 99 in southwest Harris County caused the death of one person, early Saturday morning.
According to initial reports, local officers responded to the scene of the crash at the 15900 block of Texas 99 after receiving a call reporting a collision. Police said that a vehicle suddenly ran out of gas while traveling along Grand Parkway. Its driver stepped out to ask for help but got struck by a passing F-150 pickup truck. The force of the impact killed the victim instantly. His passenger who stayed inside the vehicle was not hurt. No identifications have been released at this time.
After the initial investigation, police ruled out alcohol as a factor in the accident. They did not release information about the pickup truck driver who hit the victim.
Harris County law enforcement officials continue to investigate the accident.
