One person died after getting involved in a truck accident on Highway 377 near Stewart Road, last January 11.

According to reports, the wreck took place at an unspecified time last Wednesday. A commercial trash truck was traveling along the highway when, for yet unknown reasons, it crashed into a rock hauler. The force of impact killed the truck driver instantly. His identification has not been disclosed.

The driver of the rock hauler sustained major injuries from the collision. It was not immediately determined if he was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The highway was closed for several hours for clearing.

State investigators were requested at the scene to determine what led the fatal crash.

We express our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased victim. May God grant you the strength you need to get through this difficult moment in your life. We strongly believe that authorities will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

According to statistics, at least one person dies from a car accident every two minutes. Most common causes of Texas car accidents include unsafe lane change, following too closely or tailgating, failing to yield, and speeding.

While on the road, it is important to avoid any form of distractions and be completely aware of our surroundings. We have to be reminded of how our choices while behind the wheel can affect other people’s lives.
