Startford – Woman Died in Head-on Crash on US 54

At least two people were killed in a fatal two-vehicle accident on US 54, Sunday evening.

Just after 6:00 p.m., police received a report of a crash involving several vehicles. A Ford Fusion was heading south on the highway when it crashed into a Kia Optima while attempting to pass a semi-truck in front of it. After the impact, the Ford landed on the path of the semi, triggering a chain-reaction collision. Both drivers of the Optima and Ford died from the injuries they sustained in the crash. They were only identified as a 55-year-old Wisconsin woman and a 34-year-old resident of Guymon.

Another occupant in the Optima was rushed to Northwest Texas Hospital with major injuries. Their condition remains undisclosed.

No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
