Somerville – Monica Gutierrez Identified Victim of Vehicle Accident on FM 60

The Somerville Police Department has released the name of the victim who died in a fatal car crash on Farm to Market Road 60 last Monday.
According to authorities, the fatality was identified as Monica Gutierrez, 22.
A preliminary investigation shows that Gutierrez was driving a vehicle along FM 60 when, for reasons that had not been determined, it veered off the roadway, overturned, hitting a fence in the process. The car continued on and ended up crashing into a vehicle that was parked at about eight miles northwest of Somerville. The force of the impact killed Gutierrez instantly. She was pronounced deceased by local paramedics. Her passenger, identified as 26-year-old Jose Ortiz, sustained unknown injuries. He was treated on the scene.
