At least two people were reportedly injured following a car collision on US Highway 82 near Farm to Market 1417, police said.
According to a local news source, the wreck took place at around 7:00 p.m, just west of FM 1417. A red Dodge pickup truck was seen traveling along the eastbound lanes when, for reasons that had not been determined, it rear-ended a Kia Sportage that was heading in the same direction.
The impact of the collision seriously injured occupants of the Kia. They were rushed to a Dallas hospital where they were listed in critical condition. Meanwhile, two occupants in the pickup truck also sustained minor injuries. Local officials did not confirm if they were also taken to a hospital.
Local investigators arrived at the scene to determine liability. The crash remains under investigation.
We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the injured victims. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the Sherman Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Injuries caused by vehicle collisions can vary from crash to crash. Some injuries may heal within a span of days while others could paralyze a victim’s body for a month. The most commonly known car accident injuries include neck and chest and head and back injuries. Broken and ligament damages are also quite common.
Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. To make sure your claim is successful, you need to gather supporting evidence and documents that can back up your claim. It could be a detailed account of the accident you are involved in or documents indicating the extent of injuries you sustained. These may include a video or photograph of the scene, police reports, and medical records, to name a few.
