Sherman – Man Died in Head-on Collision on US 82

The Sherman Police Department has released the name of the man who died in a car accident on US Highway 82 near Farm to Market Road 1471.
The fatality was identified as 62-year-old Joe Lawrence Ross.
At around 6:30 a.m., Sherman police responded to Hwy 82 near North Travis Street to assist in an auto collision involving an SUV. According to initial reports, an SUV was travelng along the highway when it crossed the center line and crashed into another SUV. A passing truck was not able to avoid the initial crash and ended up striking both SUVs. As a result, an occupant in one of the SUVs sustained fatal injuries. He was later identified as Joe Ross.
