Sherman – Claudia Lechuga-Anaya Died after Vehicle Crash on SH 15

The passenger who died in a fatal car accident on State Highway 15 has been identified by Sherman law enforcement officials, according to a local news source.
The fatality was identified as Claudia Lechuga-Anaya, 28. She was a resident of Spearman.
At around 1:39 a.m., local troopers were dispatched to SH 15, around nine miles east of Stratford, in response to a call reporting a collision. A vehicle was seen traveling along the highway when it struck a black bull that was standing at the middle of the road. The passenger, Claudia Lechuga-Anaya, sustained injuries as a result of the collision. She was rushed to a hospital in Lubbock where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the car, identified as Gerardo Pena, 38 of Spearman, and a one-year-old child were also rushed to an area hospital for further medical care. They were later released after receiving treatment.
The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
