Shelby County- U.S. 59 Crash Injured 1

At least one person sustained injuries in a car accident on U.S. Highway 59 near Tenaha, last Tuesday.
At around 1:30 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were requested at Highway 59 near County Road 2624 after receiving a report of a multi-vehicle collision. According to initial reports, a 2016 GMC pickup truck was traveling along the southbound lanes of the highway when it failed to negotiate its speed and rear-ended a 2018 Freightliner truck heading on the same direction.
The impact of the collision injured pickup truck driver, Leonard McGee, 26, of Joaquin. McGee was the rushed to Nacogdoches hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries were not immediately released by local authorities.
Fortunately, the driver of the 18-wheeler truck did not sustain any injury. He was not identified by DPS officials.
The crash remains under investigation.
