Shelby County – Cedric Walker Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on SH 7

53-year-old Cedric Walker was pronounced deceased after colliding with another vehicle on State Highway 7 in Shelby County, Sunday morning.

Police said Walker was operating a Chevrolet van along the westbound lane of SH 7 when, for reasons that had not been determined yet, he drifted into the opposing lanes and collided with a GMC pickup truck that was towing a travel trailer. The circumstances leading up to the accident remain unclear at this time but it was confirmed that Walker died as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased by responding officers.

Fortunately, the driver of the GMC pickup truck, including his passenger, did not sustain any injury. Both were wearing seat belts.

No additional information has been provided as the investigation is still in progress.
