San Marcos – Police Officer Struck by Car on I-35

The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation about a car accident on Interstate 35 near Exit 205 B last Monday.
At around 1:30 p.m., a San Marcos police officer was dispatched to I-35 to remove a lumber in the middle of the highway. As he stepped out of his vehicle, a passing vehicle hit him. The officer, whose name has yet to be released, suffered from major injuries and was transported by EMS medics to a local hospital where he went into immediate surgery. His condition remains undisclosed at this time.
Police did not release further information about the driver of the passenger vehicle. Whether or not he remained at the scene remains unclear.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
