San Marcos – Officer Claudia Cormier Injured in DUI Collision on Interstate 35

San Marcos identified the police officer who got struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35 last Saturday evening, a local news source reports.

According to initial reports, the accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on I-35 where an officer responded to a call requesting an assistance on the said highway. Police said that the police officer, identified as Claudia Cormier, was struck by a passing vehicle as she was removing traffic hazards. The impact of the collision seriously injured Cormier. She was immediately transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was later identified as 58-year-old Neil Sheehan of Flower Mound. He was booked into the Hays County Jail and is facing intoxication assault on a public servant and failure to slow causing serious bodily injury charges.

An investigation is underway.
