San Juan – Man Died Following Minnesota Rd Collision

A two-vehicle accident on Minnesota Road resulted in the death of one person, Saturday evening.
At around 11:00 p.m., a crash was reported on Minnesota Rd, not too far from Veterans and Raul Longoria roads. Initial investigation shows that a 2014 Ford was heading west on Minnesota when it was struck by a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe. Police have yet to determine why the driver of the Chevy lost control of the car and rear-ended the Ford.
As a result, two occupants in the Ford were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the occupants succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. His identification was withheld at this time. The Chevy driver was also hospitalized with minor injuries. He was eventually taken to the Hidalgo County Jail and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault, to name a few.
The crash remains under investigation.
