San Augustine—Couple Killed Following a Crash on Highway 103

A fatal car accident took the life of two people on Highway 103, last Friday morning.
Just after 10:00 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a major accident on Highway 103 near Farm to Market 1277. According to initial reports, a 2015 Chevy SUV was heading east on the highway when a 2002 Nissan vehicle drove into its path and struck it. The Nissan reportedly failed to give way at the intersection which caused the collision.
The 64-year-old driver of the Chevy, identified as Ireece Nutt, sustained injuries from the collision. She was rushed to a hospital in Lufkin with unknown injuries. Her condition remains unknown.
The Nissan driver and his passenger died from the impact. They were identified as 79-year-old Ronald Otis and 79-year-old Bobbie Otis. Authorities said that they were a couple from Broaddus.
The crash remains under investigation.
