San Antonio law enforcement officials have released the identification of the victims who passed away as a result of tragic car accident on US Highway 181, Saturday morning.
The fatalities were identified as 36-year old Nicky De La Fuente and 34-year-old Calvin Ronald Hitchcock, of Kyle, Texas.
According to initial reports, a 2003 Ford Expedition was seen heading north on Highway 181 when its driver, for reasons that had not been determined, suddenly lost control causing the vehicle to roll over several times. Two occupants, identified as Nicky De La Fuente and Calvin Ronald Hitchcock, were ejected as a result of the crash. They died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained from the impact.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV and another passenger were rushed to a local hospital for further care. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation.
Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the deceased victims. May God grant you with the strength you need to go through this sorrowful moment in your life. We strongly believe that the San Antonio investigating team will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
In Texas, car collisions happen on a regular basis. Most of the time, these events result in injuries and fatalities. Victims involved in crashes are left to deal with life-threatening injuries, damages to property, and worse—emotional trauma. While accidents are fortuitous events that cannot be foreseen, they can be prevented if only drivers had simply put their complete attention on the road and taken their responsibility as drivers more seriously. This is why, despite conscious efforts by government to combat the increasing number of fatalities and injuries every year, crashes due to negligence is still on the rise.
