At least one person was sent to a hospital after getting involved in a car collision on Cable Ranch Road, last Friday afternoon.
According to initial reports, local troopers responded to Cable Ranch Road near Marbach Road after receiving a call reporting a car accident at around 4:30 p.m. Police said that a four-door silver Jetta was traveling along the southbound lane of Cable Ranch when, for reasons that had not been determined, it crossed into the oncoming lanes where it collided with a westbound Ford pickup truck.
The driver of the Jetta, who was identified only as a teenage driver, was ejected from the car, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment. It was not confirmed if the pickup truck driver sustained injuries.
No citations have been issued as the investigation is still in progress.
We are deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of the injured victim. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. We strongly believe that the San Antonio Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Texas is among the states in the US that have the most car accidents which involved injuries and fatalities every year. Some of the common factors contributing to the rising cases of collisions in the area include the worsening traffic situation, weather conditions, and poor driving habits.
Bad driving habits are the greatest cause of a fatal crash. It can be lethal to the person behind the wheel, as well as the drivers on the road. Drivers who do not use their signal to change lanes or those who do not secure their blind spots before shifting direction are more likely to be involved in an accident. Some of the most dangerous driving habits include speeding, unsafe lane change, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a car accident with a negligent driver, you have a right to fair compensation for the trauma you experienced and the injuries you have suffered.
