An alleged drunken driver caused a car accident on Babcock Road which took the life of one person, last Sunday night.

The San Antonio Police Department responded to a major pedestrian accident at the 6900 block of Callaghan Road near Babcock Road. According to the report, a pedestrian was attempting to cross the street when he was struck by an unidentified vehicle that was moving erratically on the road.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified the victim as Ricardo Vasquez.

The driver of the hitting vehicle, identified as Osis Alonso Rodriguez, did not stop and render aid to the victim. Police later found his vehicle at an apartment complex near the Medical Center and arrested him for hit and run and DUI charges.

The crash remains under investigation.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the injured victims. We pray for their full recovery as we hope that the San Antonio Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.

Sometimes, a car accident can cause serious injuries to multiple parties—and filing a claim can get complicated. To make sure your claim is successful, you need to gather supporting evidence and documents that can back up your claim. It could be a detailed account of the accident you are involved in or documents indicating the extent of injuries you sustained. These may include a video or photograph of the scene, police reports, and medical records, to name a few.
