San Antonio law enforcement officials are investigating a collision between a pedestrian and a train on South Presa Street, Tuesday afternoon.
At around 1:00 p.m., local firefighters were dispatched to South Presa Street, not far from Roosevelt Park, in response to a call reporting a crash. According to the report, a man was seen walking on the tracks when he was struck by a passing train. A conductor of the train told police that he saw the pedestrian waving his hands–acknowledging he saw the train–but was not able to move away from the tracks in time. The impact of the crash thrown the man about 30 feet away.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No one else was injured.
The investigation continues.
