Authorities are still in pursuit of the driver who fled the scene after getting involved in a car accident on Medical Drive, Saturday morning.
Last February 16, a traffic collision took place at around 1:00 a.m. near Medical Drive and Horizon Hill Boulevard. A pickup truck was heading west on Medical Drive when, for yet unknown reasons, it drifted into the opposing lanes where it struck a Crown Victoria vehicle. The vehicle then veered off the roadway and crash into a sign.
Local paramedics had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the victim from the wreckage. The occupant was rushed to University Hospital for treatment. His injuries were considered serious.
The pickup truck driver did not stop at the scene. His whereabouts and identification are yet to be released by San Antonio police.
We are deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of the injured victim. Our prayers and thoughts are with them. We strongly believe that the San Antonio Police Department will do everything to bring those responsible to justice.
Texas is among the states in the US that have the most car accidents which involved injuries and fatalities every year. Some of the common factors contributing to the rising cases of collisions in the area include the worsening traffic situation, weather conditions, and poor driving habits.
Bad driving habits are the greatest cause of a fatal crash. It can be lethal to the person behind the wheel, as well as the drivers on the road. Drivers who do not use their signal to change lanes or those who do not secure their blind spots before shifting direction are more likely to be involved in an accident. Some of the most dangerous driving habits include speeding, unsafe lane change, tailgating, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you or someone you love has been a victim of a car accident with a negligent driver, you have a right to fair compensation for the trauma you experienced and the injuries you have suffered.
