San Antonio – Octavio Bernal Died in Apparent Speeding Crash on Bulverde Rd

A vehicle that may have been speeding jumped the curb on Bulverde Road, killing its driver, late Tuesday night.
According to the release, the incident took place just before midnight in the 23000 block of Bulverde Road near Johnson High School. A vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed when it jumped the curb in front of the Bexar-Bulverde Volunteer Fire Department. It continued on and crashed into two pickup trucks that were parked nearby. Local firefighters said that the force of the impact killed the driver instantly. He had to be extricated from the wreckage, as per responding officers.
No one was injured in the crash.
The San Antonio Police Department later identified the victim as 42-year-old Octavio Bernal. They have yet to confirm if Bernal was speeding prior to the crash.
