San Antonio – Juanita Venegas Died in Pedestrian Crash on Basse Rd

San Antonio law enforcement officials have released the name of the pedestrian who died in a car accident on Basse Road near Alamo Quarry.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., police responded to the 100 block of Basse Rd to assist in a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Initial investigation shows that a 2011 Hyundai Elantra was seen traveling along the westbound lane of the road when it struck an elderly woman after drifting into another lane. The pedestrian, identified as 78-year-old Juanita Venegas, suffered from major injuries and died at the scene. She was pronounced deceased by emergency officers who responded to the scene.
Whether or not the driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene remains unclear at this time.
No charges have been made as the investigation is still in progress.
