A driver who fled the scene of the crash on Military Drive is still at large, according to a San Antonio police official, early Monday morning.

According to initial reports, an accident involving a motorcycle and a van took place at around 6:00 a.m. on the eastbound lane of Highway 151 access road near West Military Highway. A van was heading west on the highway when it ignored a stop signal and ultimately colliding with a motorcycle. Police said that the motorcyclist was attempting to make a turn to Military when the accident happened.

The motorcylist, whose identity has yet to be released, was pronounced deceased by emergency crews. He was wearing a helmet.

Meanwhile, the driver of the van did not stop to help the victim. His identification and location remain unknown at this time.

An investigation is underway.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased victim.
