San Antonio—Elderly Man Struck and Killed on Babcock Road near Medical Drive

The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified the victim who died in a pedestrian collision Babcock Road last Sunday night.

The elderly man was identified as 69-year-old Floyd Van Hampton. According to reports, Hampton was crossing the Babcock Road near Medical Drive when he was hit by a vehicle. The force of impact left the Hampton with serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the hitting vehicle did not render aid to Hampton. He escaped the scene and was later found by San Antonio police officers at an apartment complex.

Investigation is still in progress.
