San Antonio – Driver Still At Large Following US 281 Collision

The San Antonio Police Department is still looking for the driver who fled the scene after hitting a pedestrian on US Highway 281, Saturday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m., police received a call reporting a crash on Highway 281 near St. Mary’s Street. A man was seen walking south on Hwy 281 when he was struck by a pickup truck that was also heading south. The pickup truck continued on, struck another vehicle and a barrier before coming to rest. After the impact, the driver escaped the scene on foot.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian suffered from fatal injuries and later died at the scene. He has yet to be identified by authorities.

Local investigators said the suspect is a white male who was wearing a hoodied at the time of the crash. His whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
